The club had a successful day at the Fr. Kelly Cup Finals 2013. The ladies team won the competition and our men’s team reached the final.
The ladies team only conceded 1:02 in total over four games of the tournament, which is an unbelievable achievement in itself. In the final they beat Western Shamrocks with the score of 4:11 v 0:0, it was an overall great team effort with some individual displays of class. This is the first title under new manager Tony McVeigh, a good start to the season.
The men’s team also had a good day but were unlucky to lose in the final. They beat Western Shamrock’s 4:09 v 0:2 in the semi-final. In the final they put in a great performance, but two goals in succession gave Southern Districts the final say.
The 2013 league season kicks off on the Friday the 3rd May and we are looking in great shape to be in contention for more silverware this season.
